  ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of Pathology at Government Medical College, Ariyalur was started in the year 2021. We have 150 undergraduate students every year.

The teaching faculties of our department includes 1 Professor, 3 Associate Professors, 4 Assistant Professors and 6 Tutors. We have well equipped lab with well qualified lab technicians who are the backbone for running the central laboratory 24×7 hours.

Our museum have more than 300 mounted specimens with 15 catalogues.

Our department is equipped with automated tissue processor (histokinette), automated  microtome and tissue embedder  for precise cutting of sections.

We are also doing pathology services for Government hospitals of  Sendurai, Jayamkondam, Udaiyarpalayam and Tittagudi  and also for nearby primary health centres.
